Matthew Sheehan

Matthew has a passion to see people connect with meaning and purpose and build a strong sense of identity.

Matthew works with people across the lifespan and has a special interest in working with childhood anxiety

Matthew has 13 years of experience working as a psychologist. He commenced his career in Cairns applying his trade in a range of drug and alcohol and mental health services and working for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in remote Aboriginal communities.

Matthew has recently returned to the Cairns area after spending the last eight years in Victoria working in public mental health services with adults and children before starting in private practice.

Matthew enjoys working with parents and children to improve emotional regulation

Areas of interest include childhood anxiety, neurodevelopment disorders (Autism Spectrum, ID, ADHD), cognitive assessments and autism assessments.

Matthew enjoys camping with his family and trying to catch fish.

Matthew uses a range of therapeutical approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as attachment based strategies.

 

Tarryn Sheehan

Tarryn is a highly skilled Psychologist with over 14 years of experience working with children, families and adults. 

 

Tarryn has worked across a range of settings including trauma focused, early intervention, schools, government and private practice. She has extensive experience working with all ages and has worked in Cairns, Victoria and Broome. 

 

Individually tailored therapeutic interventions for all age groups. She also has experience facilitating evidence based programs to parents, adults and children including Circle of Security, Incredible Years and MindUp.
